The Captain’s Council

How the Captain’s Council works

01

The Weekly Council

Every week, the Council meets.

The same small group of men, building real history together over time.

We’ll celebrate wins, bring real questions, challenge one another, share what we’re learning, and help each other think through the things that actually matter.

We’ll rotate leadership of the calls so everyone contributes his best to the group.

Some calls will be training brought from a brother around something he has learned, built, figured out, or fought through. On other calls a brother will lead us through some practical, in-the-moment exercise to move us forward.

Sometimes one great question makes the whole conversation.

02

Private Council Community

The conversation keeps going between calls.

There will be a private place for the Council to talk, ask questions, share voice memos, celebrate wins, work through decisions, and help one another.

Marriage. Kids. Business. Prayer support. Money. Leadership. Health. Calling.

Whatever is actually happening.

The goal is simple: when you need the perspective of strong men who know you and know your family, you have friends who get it.

03

Monthly Couples Lunch with me and Natalie

Once a month, Natalie and I will have lunch with the Council couples online.

Informal. Ask-us-anything. Let’s all get to know one another.

We’ll eat (Natalie doesn’t know she’ll be on camera eating yet… I’m sure she’ll love the idea), talk, laugh, answer questions, and have helpful conversations about marriage, sex, parenting, family culture, leadership and whatever else is useful.

Your wife should know the people you are building this part of your life with.

04

Wives-Only Call — Coming Soon

Your wife is not an afterthought, and she needs women at her level, too.

We will add a regular wives-only call so the women can build their own relationships, encourage one another, ask questions, and grow alongside other women who are serious about building extraordinary families.

05

Three live gatherings every year

Three times a year, we get out from behind the screens and actually spend time together.

One with the men

Just the bros.

Great conversations. Great food. Great experiences. Late nights. Lots of fun and quality time you just can’t get on Zoom.

One with our wives

The couples together.

A beautiful destination. Great marriages around other great marriages.

Time to enjoy each other, learn from each other, ask questions, have conversations and let our wives build relationships with women from families they respect.

One with our families

Bring the kids. Because your children need this, too.

They should grow up around other kids and other families who make following Jesus boldly, building strong marriages, creating great family cultures, thinking long-term and doing meaningful things with their lives feel normal.

(Travel, lodging and event expenses are separate from membership.)
